@graphty/graphty-element / session / StyleCounts

Interface: StyleCounts

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:213

How many elements one layer covers, and on how many it decides each channel it writes.

Counts only, never ids, so it stays small at any graph size.

Since

3.16.0

Properties

adjusted?

readonly optional adjusted?: readonly CodedFact<StyleAdjustmentCode>[]

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:287

What the element draws differently from what the layer worked out on its matched elements, one fact per code and channel, with params { channel, count }: how many elements. See StyleAdjustmentCode. Empty when everything is drawn as worked out. Always present on counts graphty-element returns; optional only so that counts written by hand before it existed still type-check.

covers

readonly covers: Readonly<Partial<Record<Channel, ChannelCovers>>>

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:255

Per channel the layer writes, the layers the picture shows instead on its matched elements and on how many each: the three that cover most, then how many more layers cover it. A channel the layer wins everywhere has no entry. What answers "why don't I see my look?" property by property.

Since

3.26.0

leftOut

readonly leftOut: readonly CodedFact<"top.tie">[]

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:271

Elements a "top N" in the layer's selector left out because they tie, one fact per top that fell short: a top takes a tie group whole or not at all, so when every element carries the same value (each node of a community carries its community's size) it can take none. Empty when every top took all it was asked for. See LeftOutCode.

Since

3.27.0

matched

readonly matched: number

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:218

How many elements the layer's selector selects, whether or not the layer is shown. A hidden layer still matches its elements; it decides none of them.

noValue

readonly noValue: number

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:227

How many matched elements carry no value (absent or null) for a field the layer reads.

outsideScale

readonly outsideScale: number

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:233

How many matched elements carry a value the layer's scale has no place for, such as a zero or a negative number under a logarithmic scale, or a number outside an explicit domain the scale does not clamp.

painted

readonly painted: Readonly<Partial<Record<Channel, number>>>

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:225

For each channel the layer writes, on how many of the matched elements it is the layer the picture shows: the topmost layer that painted that channel there, worked out by the same walk as explain and agreement. Every channel the layer writes has a key, 0 when a layer above paints over all of it or the layer is hidden.

paintedBy

readonly paintedBy: readonly string[]

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:247

For the channels the layer writes, the other layers the picture shows instead on its matched elements, the most elements first: who paints over it. Empty when it wins everywhere, and for a hidden layer.

Since

3.26.0

reads

readonly reads: readonly string[]

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:240

Every value the layer reads, its selector's and its bindings', without repeats, as paths (data.age, results.louvain.group): what a panel lists as "values read". Empty for a layer that reads none, such as one matching everything with fixed values.

Since

3.26.0

revision

readonly revision: string

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:292

Changes whenever these counts may have changed: on every style:changed, and on every change to the data or the run results the layers read. Equal revisions mean equal counts.

tops

readonly tops: readonly CodedFact<TopFactCode>[]

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:279

What each "top N" in the layer's selector took, one fact per top, whichever tie policy it runs: exactly N, fewer because a tie group was left out, more because one was taken whole, or fewer because fewer elements carry the value. What a count line under a top reads. See TopFactCode.

Since

3.26.0

undrawn

readonly undrawn: readonly CodedFact<"caption.noArrow">[]

Defined in: graphty-element/src/session/styles/explain.ts:263

Channels the layer wins on some elements where the canvas draws nothing for them, one fact per channel with how many elements: today an end caption (edge.arrowHeadText, edge.arrowTailText) on an edge whose end draws no arrow, since a caption hangs from its arrow. Empty when everything the layer wins is drawn. See UndrawnCode.
