layoutDescriptor(id): LayoutDescriptor | undefined

Find one layout's descriptor by its public name.

The element's own arrangements first, then whatever a third party registered. A lookup that missed registered layouts would leave the extension point half built: the entry would be visible in a picker -- catalog.layouts() composes both halves -- and then be unrecognised the moment a reader chose it.

Returns

LayoutDescriptor | undefined

The descriptor, or undefined when nothing answers to that name.
