A bound that depends on the data rather than on the option itself, written as a documented reference string. The static descriptor stays plain JSON; catalog.optionsFor(key, scope) returns the same descriptor with the reference replaced by a number measured on this graph, so a slider bounded by "up to the largest core in this graph" renders correctly instead of guessing.
