The expiry a defect waiver carries until a real one is chosen: ninety days from 2026-09-22, the day the two kinds of waiver were split apart.

A placeholder, not a judgement. None of these defects has been weighed against a release, so the date says only "look at this within the quarter". The owner replaces it per waiver with a date that means something, and test/contracts/waiver-expiry.test.ts refuses a date more than WAIVER_HORIZON_DAYS away, so "2099-01-01" is not a way back to silence.
